Master Luke Reinhardt

International Master Luke Reinhardt

Owner and QLD Regional Director
General Secretary for the APTSDF
6th Degree Black Belt

Master Reinhardt started his training in the art of Tang Soo Do at the age of 14 as a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association under the region 16 director, KJN Washington.

Master Reinhardt has always been a personal student of KJN Washington and his Moo Do Kwan.

Master Reinhardt began his training in Adelaide, S.A, at the Asia Pacific Headquarters and also started studios in Goolwa and Victor Harbor back in 2001. In 2005 he moved to Darwin to be a head instructor for Tang Soo Do in the Northern Territory and also delivered self defense programs in schools. He recently moved to the Gold Coast in 2009 to pursue starting his own karate schools. In August 2010 Master Reinhardt was invited to attend a Masters clinic, seminars and International Tournament in Atlanta, USA at the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation. He had the opportunity to meet and train with many masters and also had the privilege of attending seminars with Grandmaster James Allison of the Hapkido Sun Moo Kwan.

Over the years he has also worked in gym’s as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and currently works at The Golden Door Spa and Health club teaching boot camps, boxing circuits, circuits and gym floor supervisor.

Master Reinhardt has also attended seminars over the years in Muai Thai, Hapkido and Jujitsu but he has always been loyal and dedicated to Tang Soo Do and his teacher, KJN Washington.

He enjoys teaching every aspect of traditional karate. He believes it is important to embrace all of the art to become a true Black Belt and Master of Tang Soo Do. Hyung (traditional forms), Moo Ki Sul (weaponry), Dae Ryun (sparring), Ho Sin Sul Hapkido (throws, joint locks and take downs), and Shil Ke (practical application).

“As teachers of an art full of tradition, lineage and history, it is important that we pass on our knowledge and skills to our students true to Tang Soo Do and to the Founders, Grandmasters and Masters before us. We are the keepers of the art and if the traditional hyungs, techniques and teachings are ignored or forgotten, it will be lost forever.”

Master Reinhardt would not be the martial artist he is today if it wasn’t for the guidance, support, teaching and friendships from KJN Washington, Mrs Linda Washington, Master Kylie Vaughan and his instructors over the years. They have always inspired him to be the best martial artist he can be and be proud to be an instructor of Tang Soo Do.

“Instructors shape our future into what type of martial artist we become. If it wasn’t for their time, commitment and dedication to their students none of us would be where we are today. They are the reason Tang Soo Do is in my blood and that I have dedicated my life to becoming a Master and continuing to pass on their knowledge.”
